Galena makes a great place to live and PLAY. It’s scenic rural setting offers wide open spaces and cozy wooded areas great for all outdoor adventure. With quiet side streets and a sidewalk lined town, Galena’s walkability is definitely a feature to boast. As a recipient of the MDOT Kim Lamphier Bikeways grant, Galena is in the beginning stages of creating a shared-use path from the town center north to Kent County's Toal Park, and east to Olivet Hill Road increasing walkability and ensuring safe travel along the state highways leading to town. Long range plans include extension of the pathway to the yacht basin in Georgetown.
Children have 2 playgrounds to enjoy within the Galena zip code, Toal Park and Galena Community Park.
