Dogwood Park is being reimagined from the ground up as an inclusive playground where children of all abilities can play, explore, and have fun together.
Our goal is to transform the park with accessible playground equipment, sensory activities, and safe, wheelchair-accessible surfacing, creating a welcoming space where every child has the opportunity to play.
Why Dogwood Park Needs an Upgrade
For more than 20 years, the playground equipment at Dogwood Park has provided a place for generations of Galena children and families to play and make memories. After two decades of use, the equipment has reached the end of its expected lifespan and no longer reflects today’s standards for accessible and inclusive play.
It’s time to build the next generation of Dogwood Park. The new playground will focus on accessibility, inclusion, safety, and opportunities for children of all abilities to play together.
